Faculty Bio

Heather Lyons, M.S., CCC-SLP, is Assistive Technology Partners’ (ATP) newest faculty member. As an instructor and assistive technology specialist, she coordinates the Southeast Technical Assistance Center (SETAC), a satellite office in Colorado Springs. She received her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Purdue University in 2006. She also holds a Master’s degree in Linguistics from the University of Colorado – Boulder (1997). Mrs. Lyons has primarily worked in the public schools, teaching English as a second language and providing speech-language intervention to students in preschool through grade 12. She has also worked with adults in a sub-acute care facility in Evergreen. Prior to coming to ATP, Mrs. Lyons was a SWAAAC team coordinator for the Mt. Evans BOCES and a speech-language pathologist for Platte Canyon School District in Bailey, Colorado. Her areas of interest include: augmentative and alternative communication, traumatic brain injury, and visual and auditory processing.
