Click here for more information on AEM The Accessible Educational Materials for Students with Print Disabilities (AEM) Grant Program, a three-year, $300,000 project, is intended to address some of the issues around literacy development in students who are reading below grade level. This project will evaluate the success of a pilot program to develop and distribute materials and equipment such as digital audio playback devices, reading software, and other assistive technologies. The technologies will be provided to students who do not qualify for Special Education Services to help these students effectively access the written word. It is based on Colorado House Bill 06-1004 “Concerning the Creation of a Grant Program to Provide Funding for Organizations that Supply Accessible Educational Materials for Students with Print Disabilities, and Making an Appropriation Therefore”. |
